HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH MISSION COMMITTEE MEETING

                 November 13, 2007

The Mission Committee of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church met at 5:30 p.m. on November 13 in the Parish Hall.  Members present were the Reverend David Lemburg, Warden Celeste Ramirez, Larry Coleman, Terri Rielley, GiGi Smith, Marilyn Vockroth, Garry Brewer, and Mary Weems.  Also present were Jimmy Burr, Miya Morgan, and Matthew Tolbert.

Fr. David reported that a parishioner of the church in McComb had purchased a laptop computer for his use.  He asked that the mission committee consider purchasing a desktop computer for the church office.  He presented a specification list for a unit costing $750.  After discussion, the matter was tabled for consideration at the December meeting.

Fr. David reported that Betty Dabney has requested that a small stand be built for the organ consol so that she can spread out her music.  Mary will try to arrange to have the stand built.

The committee discussed that Bishop Gray will be at the services on December 30 as our supply priest.  There will be a church meeting with the Bishop at 9:00 a.m. and worship services will follow at 10:00.

The Mutual Ministry Review will be November 14 in the parish hall at 5:30 p.m.  Canon Johnson will be present as moderator.  All committee members were urged to attend.

Fr. David presented the financial report.  We are currently at 75% of our pledges, and 50% of our budget.  We are spending an average of approximately $5500 a month with our income averaging approximately $5000.

Mary requested and the committee approved the purchase of altar linens (purificators, lavabo towels, corporals).

Fr. David informed the committee that we would use Rite Two, Eucharistic Prayer B for Advent services.  On Christmas Eve and following services we will return to Rite Two, Eucharistic Prayer A.  The Revised Common Lectionary starts Advent 1.  The new Lectionary has already been purchased.  The committee decided that we would use a thurible for the Christmas Eve services.

Pastoral care concerns included Ella Campbell, Becky Dionne, Joan Gibson, Cliff Rawls, Nancy Schulte, and Bertie Mae Young.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:00.
